What a great day!

What a beautiful day in Wisconsin. Hopefully soon we can break out the sandals and capris.

The kids have cabin fever.

What a great weekend

We had an awesome weekend together. On Friday we made the trek to MJ Steven's for fish. The wait at 5:15 was only 45 minutes. So Nick got his craving.

Saturday we went to the annual Jackson Easter Egg Hunt. WOW! were there the kids there! Will was upset because he really didn't get the hang of moving fast. He followed all the kids and by the time he got to where they were going, the eggs were gone. The one egg he got was a ticket winner so he won a prize!

Reagan on the other hand, got the idea, but just didn't get many eggs. His little legs didn't move fast enough.

On Sunday we went to Sprecher to take a tour. We tried many beers and sodas (which is a special treat for our kids!) and had our picture with the Easter bunny printed on bottles of Root Beer! We had a great day together.

It's A Girl

This week we found out that David and Libby are having a baby girl. Erin will be her name. They had an adorable cake cutting ceremony at Nick's parents house. VERY cute.

Simma's made the cake.

David and Libby were the first to see if the inside frosting was pink or blue! It was a really cute idea.

Do you ever feel like the worst mom ever?

Yesterday I hit my all time low.

I have been really busy over the last week. We had lots of appointments, meetings, and I worked on curriculum on Saturday morning - after being in Oshkosh for the two days before.

When I got home, Reagan was laying in Nick's arms. Not that Reagan isn't loving and all, but it wasn't his style. Nick said he had been quiet and laid around all day.

Long story short, he was running a fever, so I took him. He has an ear infection that is so bad, the doctor said it is very likely he will end up with a ruptured ear drum.

Nice huh? I know I couldn't have prevented it per se, but I feel like the worst parent ever. Everything and anything has come before the kids lately and that definitely has to change

So far no ruptured ear drum so maybe God has given me a pass!

Friday Night

We have had one crazy week ending with me in Oshkosh for two days and working Saturday morning. I am looking forward to a little easier week ahead. We will see - Reagan is still not feeling very well.

Friday we headed out to BW3's. Will enjoyed his crown!

St. Patrick's Day

Since we are a little Irish ...

We wore our green today.

Will was a little more in the spirit than the rest of us.

Reagan had a visit from 4K "Ducky" who had to be with us tonight. We logged all our adventures in our journal. He even had the chance to Skype with Grandma and Grandpa Dobson.

Hope you had a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Not much to say

Tired. That's about it. Tired and not looking forward to the busy week ahead.

Hoops Night!

Tonight is the annual Hoops Night event at school. Will is so excited. He asks about almost everyday - remembering that's where they played basketball.

His former 5K teacher Mrs. Buettner is wearing the "Majesty Mortgage" player shirt. Will is so pumped.

Reagan ... well he didn't want to go until he saw us with our t-shirts on and asked where his was.

Hopefully some of our raffle tickets will be lucky winners!

Parenthood - 2nd episode

So last night I watched Parenthood again - this time right away.

The little boy was officially diagnosed with AS.

The dad was having a really hard time with it. Thinking of it like a disease or sickness that could be cured.

When he asked the doctor about what they could do, he replied with, "You have to step into your son's world with him. When he is ready to step out, that's what you do."

I think that describes children with AS very well. We might step into the world of Mario or Mickey Mouse and when Will is ready, we step back.

This is my new favorite show for many reasons, but most importantly for bringing autism to the forefront of American homes.

Tune in on Tuesdays at 9:00 on ABC.

Kids Say the Funniest Things ...

So yesterday all these people were walking up to me at work telling me "Congratulations." I thought, "For what?"

Reagan told his teacher, the librarian, the assistant, and a parent I know that I was having a baby.

Yeah, I am not. When I said I wasn't, he started to bawl in front of everyone! (Now I feel like a horrible person.).

So how do you begin to tell a four year old that I really can't have children and the money tree in our backyard stopped growing so adoption is out of the question?

Don't get me wrong, I would love, love, love a baby! But these ages are really growing on me. (And my age isn't getting any younger!)

Parenthood

For a few nights Nick has been bugging me to sit and watch Parenthood off the DVR. I needed to be in the mood. After asking me for the 6th time, I sat down last night when the kids were in bed.

Now I know the reason why.

Half way through I had an idea and asked Nick about the young boy in the pirate outfit. He didn't say anything but just kept watching with me.

3/4th of the way through, that lovely young boy was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome.

God has this way of poking you to awaken you. We have been so blessed lately in learning so many new things about autism. We decided to do our first ever Autism Speaks walk. We went to our hear a speaker last weekend. For some reason I think God wanted us to see this show. Maybe it will give us more insight and maybe, just maybe, it will educate others about our children!

Whatever the reason, I am so thankful everyday for Will! I hope you will consider watching Parenthood to learn more!

It's almost time

For Brewer season that is!

First stop of the year to buy a parking pass for Exhibition Game we are going to!

It was pretty busy today ... 30 minute wait outside in the sunny weather!
